Prayer is at the centre of who we are and what we do.
Prayer meeting We meet in the Good Shepherd Chapel in St Alban’s every Tuesday between 9.00 and 10.00am. We pray for the parish and the world. Everyone welcome – come when you can and leave when you have to.
Prayer ministry Members of our prayer ministry team are available in the Chapel after every 10.30am service. They can be identified by their green badges. You are welcome to seek prayer for any reason, whether for yourself or for someone else. This is treated confidentially, under the authority of the Vicar.
Prayer requests In the Chapel you will find a notebook and a pen. This enables you to request prayers for any reason. Members of the church will pray for the people names and for the situations listed, for the following month.
Prayer chain We have a chain of people who will pray for particular needs. The head of the prayer chain can be contacted by phone and will then begin the process of passing on the request. Details can be found in the church.
Private prayer The church is open every day and the Good Shepherd Chapel is specifically set aside for prayer. There is a CD player with a variety of music, and a number of books, pictures, liturgies and other things to assist you in prayer. Or you may simply wish to enjoy a time of quiet.
Healing Service On the first Wednesday of the month we usually have a special service at 7.30pm. We seek to be open to God’s Holy Spirit and we pray for healing and any other needs. You may come and receive prayer for yourself, or for anyone and anything that you are concerned about.
